The stage is now set for the fifth edition of Most Trusted brand Awards billed to hold this weekend. Meanwhile, The General Manager, Business Development, Mr.Kolawole Oyeyemi has confirmed its readiness to speak at the event. The awards, which is to be hosted under the theme” Issues of Trust in Nigeria; Moving from Rhetoric to Praxis” is being organized as part of contributions to brand management and restoration of trust which was fast eroding. Speaking at a press briefing held at The NUJ centre in Lagos, the organizer of the award, Mr.Emma Udowoima said the initiative became necessary in view of the decline in trust that had permeated our national life including brands. He said his desire to restore the which had been lost necessitated his decision to continue to promote the idea noting that all effort should be done to restore the country’s dignity. Accordingto Emma, it is becoming obvious that individuals and organizations no longer enjoy the trust which they were mostly associated with in the past stating that the since the commencement ofthe award, there has been considerable improvement in perception on the part of consumers. He explained that the award has helped many brands in understanding how the products are perceived in the market.

Commenting on how the results of this year edition was arrived at, Emma disclosed that a a total of 12,000 questionaires were distributed out of which 6,000 people cutting across socio economic classesprovided their response. He noted that the respondents which include male and female between the age 16 and 65 years took part in deciding who should be the winners in different categories highlighted. According to him, the result of the survey is quite representative of the views of consumers pan Nigeria. He said” We have circulated the questionnaire round the major part of the country to enable get concrete facts. Some of the zones where the questionnaires were circulated include Aba, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Abuja, Benin and Enugu”.
